The Lowdown

Florida State got out quick defensively to spark a 30-18 halftime lead before holding off a late Cyclone run to take down the Cyclones 55-44. The Seminoles never trailed. 

Senior Hallie Christofferson, playing in her last collegiate game, led Iowa State with 13 points and pulled down four rebounds. Brynn Williamson hit four 3-pointers en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

The Cyclones shot 25.4% from the field, struggling early. Iowa State struggled to get a momentum-shifting basket, going 4-of-22 from the 3-point line in the second half. 

Turning Point

With 1:35 remaining, Florida State’s Morgan Jones hit two free throws to put the Seminoles ahead by nine points, forcing the Cyclones to foul on each of the remaining possessions.

X-Factor

Florida State’s Defense — The Cyclones were held to only 25.4% shooting from the field and 18.4% from the 3-point line. The Seminoles used their length to out-rebound the Cyclones 44-30 and grab 11 steals, as well as blocking three shots.
