Santerre-Gervais earns Event Specialist of the Week honors

Senior Camille Santerre-Gervais competes in the bars against West Virginia on Feb. 7 at Hilton Coliseum. Santerre-Gervais received a 9.95 in her bars, tying the Cyclones’ record on bars. Overall the Cyclones won 196.025 to 194.175.

The ISU gymnastics team’s Camille Santerre-Gervais has been named the Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Santerre-Gervais earned the award for her record-setting performance in Iowa State’s 196.025-194.175 win against West Virginia Friday night.
Santerre-Gervais tied an ISU record on uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.950 becoming the fifth gymnast in ISU history to reach that mark on the bars. The St.-Lazare, Quebec native followed up her performance on bars by setting a new career-high on the beam with a score of 9.825.
Iowa State returns to action 1 p.m. Sunday to take on Northern Illinois and Texas Women’s University in Dekalb, Ill.
