KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Iowa State’s first trip to the Big 12 tournament since 2007 ended in a 1-0 loss to Baylor on Wednesday in Kansas City, Mo.

Iowa State controlled the first half, keeping possession of the ball on Baylor’s end of the field while outshooting the Bears 10-8. Iowa State failed to capitalize on four corner kicks earned in the first half.

The second half was all Baylor as it outshot Iowa State 8-2 and won the final shot count 16-12. Ashley York came through for the Bears in the 57th minute, striking a turn around shot in front of the goal, beating ISU goalkeeper Maddie Jobe.

Baylor moves on to the second round of play and will take on the winner of No. 1 West Virginia and No. 8 Kansas.

The Cyclones previously defeated the Bears 1-0 in an overtime matchup on Oct. 18 in Ames.
