Cyclones, Jayhawks end match in draw

Iowa State played Kansas to a 0-0 draw Friday night, keeping the Cyclones from their first conference victory.

Neither side was able to break through the other’s backline through the first two halves, as Iowa State (6-6-1) sent four shots wide of the goal in the first half and Maddie Jobe denied Kansas (5-5-2) four times.

The second half was much of the same as both sides traded possessions and challenged the keepers. Both Jobe and Kansas keeper Kaitlyn Stroud were called upon to make clutch saves in the minutes leading into overtime.

Iowa State’s next match is Sunday against Drake in Des Moines.
