GSB will discuss resolutions, new bills at first meeting of semester

The Government of the Student Body will have its first meeting of the second semester Jan. 16.

The cabinet meeting will begin at 5:15 p.m. and senate will begin at 7 p.m.; both are open to the public.

The GSB meeting will feature a vote on a resolution, “Supporting Public Safety,” that requests that the State of Iowa, Board of Regents and the university administration budget funds necessary for the ISU Police to purchase equipment, training and infrastructure pursuant.

The document also states that copies of the resolution be sent out to members of the ISU administration, Board of Regents members, Gov. Terry Brandstad and other state of Iowa officials.

Members of GSB will also discuss new bills to be voted on at next week’s meeting. The bills are “Outreach ISU,” “Transparency Bill Round 2,” “Establishing a GSB Dress Code,” “Establishing GSB Computer Usage,” “Eliminating the Amendment to the Amendment” and “Making Senate Policies Expire.”
