The ISU athletic department released a statement Thursday evening announcing that women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly will undergo treatment for an invasive cancerous lesion on his vocal cords. 

The announcement stated that the lesion was found during a recent exam. Fennelly will undergo radiation for five weeks beginning later in October, according to the statement.
