At Wednesday’s Government of the Student Body meeting, ISU Dining Director Nancy Levandowski gave an overview of the changes to ISU Dining, which are expected to happen this year.

A few new things that have been added as dining events this year are the WOW Events, which consist of Circus Day, Biker Night and America’s Past Time.

“ISU Dining is dedicated to providing a variety of quality and sustainable culinary experiences, which enhance the educational and cultural aspects of Iowa State University,” Levandowski said.

Levandowski also added that dining services were looking into either upgrading their current food store warehouse for $7 million or build a completely new warehouse for $21 million.

Levandowski attended the meeting to collect input from GSB members about the dining services. “Students last year said that we were one of the best dining services in the country last year, but they complained about our value,” she said.

To counteract these complaints made by students last year, ISU Dining Services is currently looking into adding some type of food truck over by Kildee Hall, making menu changes for vegans and reduce crowding in places like the Union Drive Marketplace or the Memorial Union.

When asked about what was being done to reduce the cost of meal plans, Levandowski said, “Right now we are trying to make sure that we do not have an increase in the cost of meal plans for next year.”

The “It’s Time to Salsa!” bill passed.
