Split weekend in Nebraska

The ISU swimming and diving teams split their weekend road trip to Nebraska, defeating Nebraska-Omaha on Friday and losing to Nebraska on Saturday.

The Cyclones beat Nebraska-Omaha, 122-61. Iowa State took first place in seven of 10 events over the evening.

Abby Glaser and Marni Benson each won three events for the Cyclones. Benson also won the 50-meter breaststroke and Glaser won the 50-meter fly.

Jennifer Vondenkamp also took first in two events, including the 400 free relay and the 500-meter free race.

On Saturday, Iowa State fell to Big 12 rival Nebraska, 190-108. Nebraska took first in six of 10 events.

Lindsay Wegner was able to win in the 100- and 200-meter backstrokes. Glaser also took first in the 100m butterfly.

Tien Tran came second to Nebraska’s Courtney Jolly in the 3-meter dive.

Iowa State hosts Kansas on Friday.
