GSB wraps up this semester’s agenda

The Government of the Student Body Senate will conclude its business for the semester Wednesday night.

That business includes the decision on “In English Please,” a bill Vice President Joe Darr said would be a shout to the administration regarding the need for spoken language proficiency. The vote will come after a presentation from university officials.

Off Campus Senator Paul Heil will present a motion to overturn a veto President T.J. Schneider issued on Nov. 22. Schneider vetoed the allocation of $30,059.58 for the refurbishment of six Parks Library study rooms, overturning an 18 to 11 vote.

“I don’t think students should be funding university capital improvements,” Schneider said. “We pay building fees.”

The administration is looking forward to another “successful” semester. Schneider and Darr feel they have met many of their goals.

The senate will meet at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Union Gallery.
