‘Magic’ club will gather

As the variety of interests and hobbies continues to expand among ISU students, new clubs and organizations arise every year.

“Magic: The Gathering” is the newest club available to students this fall.

“Magic: the Gathering” is a fantasy/role-playing card game that has increased in popularity among gamers over the past few years, developing a following of loyal fans.

What sets apart a card game like “Magic: the Gathering” from other traditional card games?

“I think it’s probably because it’s more imaginative than your traditional card game,” Zeb Sanny, sophomore in art, said. “It’s like your own fantasy universe.”

Brian Siepker, junior in math, is also a fan of the game.

“The game also has great variety,” he said. “It’s different every time you play.”

Sanny expressed his excitement about the addition of a “Magic: The Gathering” club.

“I think it’s great that they’re starting up a club for Magic players,” Sanny said. “Being in the club will give you more people to play with, giving you more ideas to throw around.”

“Magic: The Gathering” must have at least two players, but a maximum of six people can play.

The league will have its first meeting tonight from 5 to 10 in Room 50 of Carver Hall.
