Three members of Iowa State’s greek community were victims of acts of vandalism this weekend.

Three vehicles parked at the Adelante Fraternity house, 318 Welch Ave., were vandalized to the tune of $1,000 in damages late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Steve Mourisse told Ames police that a brick was thrown through the windshield of his black Chevy Camaro.

The hood was also damaged during the incident.

Anthony Maher reported damage to his tail lights, and Mark Steward reported a scratch on the tailgate of his Dodge Ram pickup truck.

There were no arrests made as of press time.

Unrelated incidents

In two other incidents which took place early Sunday morning, The Alpha Delta Pi Sorority house, at 2125 Greeley, and the Sigma Kappa Sorority house, at 233 Gray Ave. were both victimized by vandals.

The two incidents happened less than an hour apart and are believed by police to be connected.

Rachel Adams phoned police, saying a group of males broke one of the sorority’s marble yard ornaments, according to police reports.

Less than an hour later, a dumpster at the Sigma Kappa Sorority house was pushed into the street by four men, reports indicate.

Police said Adams again phoned authorities, saying she saw the group push a dumpster into the street around 4:30 a.m.

Phone calls to Adams went unreturned Sunday and Monday evenings.

After arriving at the scene, police said they found Luke A. Hays, 19, Craig E. Rehmert, 21, Jacob W. Dimmitt, 19, and Shawn R. Loftis, 18. All four men were questioned but not arrested.

Police said both incidents involved members of the University of Missouri-Columbia chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity.

No members of ISU’s FarmHouse chapter were involved.

All groups involved decided to handle the incidents through the greek system. No criminal charges were filed.
