ISU women’s track, field finishes seventh at Big 12 Indoor Championship

Christina Hillman opened day two of the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championship for the Cyclones with the title in the women’s shot put.

Hillman scored 10 points for Iowa State, which finished the meet in seventh place with 64.42 points.

ISU scorers in field events

Katie Reeves finished tied for seventh with six other competitors in the high jump, scoring 0.42 points.

Jhoanmy Luque added two points in the triple jump with a mark of 41 feet 2.25 inches.

ISU scorers in running events

Freshman Kate Hall led off for the Cyclones in running events Saturday. She scored five points for Iowa State with a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash. 

The Cyclones added six points to their point total in the 1,000-meter run. Evelyne Guay finished fourth in 2:50.90, scoring five points and recording the ninth fastest 1,000-meter time in ISU history. Madison Nagle tacked on another point with an eighth-place finish. 

The ISU freshman middle-distance duo of Jasmine Staebler and Erinn Stenman-Fahey combined for six more points with fifth- and seventh-place performances, respectively, in the 800-meter run.

After combining for 10 points in the 5,000-meter run Friday, Perez Rotich and Erin Hooker finished the scoring effort for Iowa State on Saturday with seven points, finishing fourth and seventh, respectively, in the 3,000-meter run.  

The ISU 4×400-meter relay team completed the meet with a ninth-place finish.
