Iowa State will face some tough competition in its second week of competition in the NCAA indoor track season.

The Cyclones will travel to Arkansas for the Razorback Invitational and face nine top-25 teams, including No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Texas and No. 3 Texas A&M. Defending two-time national champion and No. 5 Oregon will also make an appearance.

Sophomore jumper Jalen Ford is using last weekend’s home meet win to fuel his drive for this weekend.

“Right now it’s all about confidence,” Ford said. “I think me getting that first win gave me a lot of confidence, especially from last year. I’m just going in expecting to do my best.”

Ford beat out Drake and Iowa jumpers at the Big 4 Duals meet last weekend in the men’s high jump, winning with a 6-foot-8.75-inch jump.

Redshirt junior and distance runner Brian Llamas won the men’s mile run with a time of 4:04.29 in last week’s Big 4 Duals meet.

“Arkansas is where we are going to test ourselves and see where we are,” Llamas said. “I think everybody from last week is really confident going into this week.”
