Fall features TV lineup designed for fashionistas

Not all TV wardrobes are as extravagant and fashion-forward as “Sex and the City,” especially not on primetime channels like ABC, CBS and NBC. Although “Parks and Recreation” was a very popular TV show, it never satisfied that inner fashionista that craves glamorous closets filled with the season’s latest trends. This fall brings a surprising dose of style to your TV and computer screens with reality and scripted shows alike.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” – 9 p.m. Wednesdays on FX

This miniseries is not one for the faint of heart. It includes twisted plots, disturbed characters and many bloody scenes. This season, Lady Gaga takes her turn at acting as Countess Elizabeth, a bloodthirsty designer addict. Appearances from Alexander McQueen, Armani Prive, Vivienne Westwood and Yves Saint Laurent create the old Hollywood glamour of the show. The costumes alone are to die for.

“Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe” – 9:30 p.m. Thursdays on Lifetime

Rachel Zoe, fashion icon, designer and stylist, takes center stage in this weekly talk show about current trends in fashion, beauty and pop culture. Other hosts have included Derek Blasberg from Vanity Fair and Rodger Berman, Rachel’s beloved husband and business partner. For your daily dose of fashion snobbery, tune in to watch the new and improved version of “Fashion Police.”

“House of DVF” – 9 p.m. Sundays on E!

The E! docuseries follows 10 fashionable young women as they compete to land the coveted job as brand ambassador for Diane von Furstenberg. Throughout the series, the candidates face challenges that involve buyers, clients and press. On top of the behind-the-scene drama, Furstenberg makes appearances throughout the show, in wrap dress form, of course. Each candidate has her own personal style that sets her apart from the others. It is a can’t miss for everyone who wants to break into the industry.

“Empire” – 8 p.m. Wednesdays on Fox

This series is centered on a fictional hip-hop entertainment company and its founding family as they fight for fame and fortune. This is all about the family drama, especially when Cookie is involved. Cookie is the fresh-out-of-prison mother who can rock a snakeskin jacket and still mean business. Her wardrobe is stocked with long fur coats, animal print everything, bold colored blouses and sky high heels to match — a glam girl’s dream.

“Scandal” – 8 p.m. Thursdays on ABC

Olivia Pope made it her duty to protect the reputation of Washington D.C.’s elite by covering its filthiest secrets. She struggles handling its problems as well as secrets from her own past and present, all while running around the nation’s capital. Olivia maintains a strong and feminine presence with fresh silhouettes and classic elegance. Even when relaxing at home, her loungewear is just as luxurious. If you’re into politics and drama, or just drama, then this one is for you.

“Scream Queens” 8 p.m. Tuesdays on Fox

This sorority-slasher comedy mixes runway-esque prep with stylish street wear to differentiate between The Chanels and Kappa Kappa Tau’s new pledge class. Emma Roberts’ character is the sartorial queen with perfectly coordinated outfits, compared with Skyler Samuels’ wardrobe of cool girl eclectic pieces from Urban Outfitters and Madewell.

All of these hit fall shows are sure to deliver a weekly dose of up-to-date fashions and they are all dripping with designers.
