The ISU volleyball team swept in-state competitors, the Northern Iowa Panthers in three sets (25-17, 25-23, 25-14).

To begin the match, Iowa State and UNI went back and forth. Both teams traded blows until the set was tied at 15-a-piece. After that tie, it was all Iowa State. The Cyclones went on to win set one, 25-17.

Set two was a closer battle of wits. UNI came out storming, taking an early 6-3 lead. The Cyclones and Panthers would then once again trade points back and forth. ISU would then take a 16-10 lead, but UNI would not go away. The final tie was at 23-a-piece. The Cyclones went onto win the second set with the score of 25-23.

It was all Cyclones in the third set. After Iowa State broke the 6-6 tie, it went all downhill for UNI. The Cyclones largest lead of the set was ten points. Iowa State went on to win set three with a score of 25-15.

The Cyclone will retake the hardwood this Saturday, Sept. 19, as they take on the No. 4 the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Hilton Coliseum at 4 p.m.
