Former ISU quarterback Seneca Wallace will be the keynote speaker at the 2015 Iowa Games opening ceremonies at 7:45 p.m. Friday.

Transferring in 2001 from Sacramento City College in California for his junior season, Wallace amassed 5,289 yards through the air and 912 rushing yards in his two season for the Cyclones. He threw 27 interceptions and 26 touchdowns.

In the 2003 NFL draft, Wallace was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks. In his 11-year NFL career, he had stints with the Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers, throwing for 4,947 yards.

The ceremony will consist of a parade of athletes, performances by the Olate Dogs from America’s Got Talent, arrival of the torch, the lighting of the cauldron and a fireworks display.

“We’re excited to welcome all athletes, coaches and spectators to this year’s Opening Ceremony and Athlete Jamboree,” said Chuck Long, CEO and Executive Director of the Iowa Sports Foundation. “We have a great lineup of events and activities for the evening and we invite everyone to come out and join us as we officially kick-off the 2015 Summer Iowa Games.”

The cost of admission is $5 for ages 13 and over and $2 for ages 12 and under. All proceeds will benefit the Iowa Food Bank Association. Wallace will sign autographs at the Athlete Jamboree from 6 to 7 p.m.
