Add interest to a look with colored denim

Colored jeans are back in for spring. There may be snow on the ground, but spring colors are screaming out to you from storefront windows. Don’t be afraid to rock colored denim, this statement piece really brings personality to your outfit.

When choosing what to pair with these bright colors, it’s important to keep an open mind. Depending on how much you want to stand out, you could pair your jeans with a plain white T-shirt and some patterned flats or go all out and try a graphic tee with complementary colors and bold flats. If you’re a person who tends to get chilly a lot, throw on a denim jacket to complete your look.

Colored denim is not only just for women. Men can rock the look as well.

David Lipke from WWD states, “As at many denim makers, non-indigo colors are becoming more important at Seven For All Mankind, including blacks, grays, browns and even brick red.”

For men looking to put an edge to their every day wear, try one of the four colors Lipke mentioned, paired with a plaid shirt.

If women are looking for a great mint or coral color, try Maurice’s. Old Navy also carries a wide range of colored denim. They also have printed denim. To dress the printed jeans use the same concept as colored jeans — plain top with bold flats or a graphic tee if you want to stand out.

Men looking for colored denim can try American Eagle or Levi’s for a wide variety of colors.

Finding the perfect color can be difficult, but keep an open mind and look for inspiration anywhere you can.
