The Government of the Student Body passed five bills Wednesday night: “Apportionment and Election Timeline,” “Providing Funding for World AIDS Day,” “Special Allocations Recommendations,” “Funding for the Mountaineering Club” and “Executive Initiative Account Bylaw Changes.”

The “Apportionment and Election Timeline” bill consisted of the population of voters for each college and residential area along with the number of senators that could be voted on for each area. Election Commissioner Adam Guenther stated during his presentation that the number of voters available in the Campustown area was only 85 percent accurate.

GSB approved the bill “Providing Funding for World AIDS Day,” which allocates $161.05 for BigMail, lanterns, ribbons, paint and canvas to be used during weeklong awareness week the group plans to hold to promote and inform people about the AIDS epidemic.

“Special Allocations Recommendations” funds the Archery Club for $2,509.18, Catalyst for $2,025, Iranian Students’ and Scholars’ Association for $1,459, ISU Global Health and AIDS Coalition for $930.56, and Taiwanese Student Association for $840.

The “Mountaineering Club Bill,” which was divided off of the Special Allocations bill, was approved for funding rental of a facility to hold a professional development clinic for its members at the cost of $200.

The “Executive Initiative Account Bylaw Changes”  bill was approved by senate by the vote of 28-3. The bylaw changes states there needs to be a two-thirds affirmative vote by the Executive Cabinet in order to block expenditure by the president of GSB.
